Where Have You Seen God Today?

  When I ask “where have you seen God today?” I’m not looking for a Broadway production miracle. I mean something so minuscule that anyone else would think it’s coincidence or good luck.  

    For me, just the other day I went to my local grocery store where they have sushi Wednesday. Unfortunately, it was Thursday. As I was walking into the store I noticed the advertisement for the sale I missed and said to myself  “G, I missed sushi Wednesday. I could really go for some sushi right now.” At that moment I was fully prepared to pay full price for whatever was available, but the shelves were empty.

   I continued on to the frozen vegetable section just to remember I needed nothing from there. I didn’t even know why I was still in the store, but I couldn’t leave. I literally felt stuck in there. So I started pacing up and down the aisle until finally, I stopped, looked over my shoulder and there sat a frozen krispy krab roll! 

   I looked at the sushi like it was a winning lottery ticket. I thought to myself ‘that belongs to someone, they could have put it there for later.’ I took it out and thought “what are the odds my favorite sushi roll would be in the freezer behind me”. Then I put it back. As I went  to walk out of the aisle I heard "Take It”. My instant thought… ‘might have to tell me twice but not 3 times.’

   As I make my way to check out with frozen sushi I hear “go to self checkout”. I almost didn't go. I scanned the sushi and it came up full price. Just when I was about to pay, I turned my head and the attendant was looking at me as if she was waiting to help. She came over and applied the discount and I was on my merry way. 

   I know that story may sound made up or dramatic but it’s true. I expect to see God everyday in the little things and He shows up every time. I have so many stories but I’d love to hear yours, where have you seen God today?
